Ron Paul on The Armenian Genocide and why we should not play the game of foreign lobbyists and interfere in foreign nations affairs , in The moment in which The Republics of Armenia and that of Turkey are reconciling between themselves and trying to forget the past , there is no reason in condemning a 'genocide' perpetuated by the Ottoman empire (a government that does not exist anymore ) ..why should be give up to the influence of a group of foreign lobbyists (Armenians) , and as Dr. Ron Paul says why this genocide and not others , there have been so many 'genocides' in the ninetieth century , , why we as Americans should we take this or that side in that conflict or this conflict , we should pursue exclusively American interests says Congressman Ron Paul and stop interfering in conflicts all around the glob
Ron Paul speaks on non-intervention during Armenian Genocide Markup 03/04/2010
Just so long as Turkey acknowledges that it did illegally massacre several million Armenians, like Germany has made acknowledgement of the Jewish Holocaust. Do not forget that the Armenian genocide was carried out by ordinary Turks, who gladly killed in the name of "allah" The Turks still hate the Armenians and the Kurds and they need to confess their crimes and take steps to reconcile. Having said that, the USA mis-steped in the resolution. Let's let bygones be bygones and not push Armenia back into the Russian orbit.
ReplyDeleteRon Paul or whoever wrote that. I really respect Ron Paul's movement revolution and the whole liberty movement, but this blog entry is a very naive approach to the situation.
ReplyDeleteIt is tantamount to saying had the Nazis survived, that we should not get involved in acknowledging the events of the Holocaust.
The Ottoman Empire does not exist anymore, neither does Hitler's Nazi party. However many members of the Young Turk movement in the Ottoman Empire that carried out the Armenian Genocide became the founding fathers of the modern republic of Turkey. Thats like Goebbels and Goering not getting caught and forming their own post-Nazi party and setting up a political structure based on their ideals.
Ron Paul really needs to revise his thoughts on the situation.
